You already know what time it is. Each month we’re blessed with a Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon drop and each month I get a “Have you seen?” text from someone. Some months are amazing and other’s are eh, but overall, the top streaming services are known to deliver a quality binge. Your thing could be cooking, lifestyle, criminal investigation series, com-roms, etc. Netflix really has it all. So, let’s get into the titles I loved and titles that the people also loved.

Behind Her Eyes

Is Behind Her Eyes: Limited Series (2021) on Netflix Germany?

Lord…Louise, Louise, Louise. I slept on this one for awhile, but I’m happy I got around to it. Netflix did it again. Behind Her Eyes dives into the minds, literally…of four people entangled in a wild ass trap. Louise is a young black woman, working in a psychologists office. The new doctor, David, comes to her london town and she finds herself in an affair with the husband but also best friends with his wife, Adele. It also involves a concept I’ve always found interesting, which is lucid dreaming,

Lucid dreaming is when you are dreaming and fully aware that you’re doing so. Some people discover it naturally and others teach themselves as a way to battle nightmares.

Crazy right? You don’t even understand lol. It also involves Adele’s “long lost” friend from a psychiatric stint, who’s not so long lost after all. Like, the end. The end. It’s unpredictable and it’s an angle that isn’t played. The acting is lovely and it’s short and sweet.

Invinsible: Season 1

Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel | Official Trailer | Netflix - YouTube

Modern day superheros meet Anime graphics. Um, it’s kind of amazing. Invincible, exclusive to Amazon, follows Nolan Grayson (Omniman) and his family, which consists of his son Mark and his wife, Debbie. The entire cast is lit, but Steven Yeun, from Walking Dead plays Mark and that’s what had me sold. Nolan is apart of a superhero team that’s killed during an ambush and he’s the sole survivor. All while that’s being investigated, his son acquires his natural born powers and sets out on his own journey. It’s beautifully graphic and uncensored and it’s everything you want in a twisted anime-like superhero series.

And, the good news? On April 29th, a renewal was announced for season 2 & 3.

The Handmaids Tale

The Emmy-nominated, highly accredited Hulu series just made it’s return for season 4! That’s right, June and her badass Handmaids are back. Let me tell you, The Handmaids Tale is not for the faint of heart, but June is honestly the trillest woman alive and Gillead did not come here to play this season. Season 4 kicks off with the arrival of the children into Canada and the Handmaids being on the run.

Season 4 gives birth to a mini June in the making and it’s been making headlines. It’s brutally satisfying and I’m here for every second of it. I’m not sure how many more seasons we’ll get from the series, but Margaret Thatwood’s latest book, The Testaments, details the life of Baby Nicole as a teen, after Gilead has been abolished. So, still plenty of material and potential spin-offs to work with.
